There are three (3) independent modes of operation in DVDRemaster: Remaster, Export and Extract. Each of these modes has a wide range of customizable settings which are independent from one mode to the other. This means that, for example, choosing settings in the Remaster mode does not affect the other modes. Below is a simple and quick description of each mode as well as the tasks for they are suited.
Remaster
The Remaster mode is suitable for making a backup of a DVD so it can be burned and played on a standalone DVD player. The Remaster mode is ideal when the DVD to backup is larger than the backup device on which it must be saved, hence making it perfect for transferring dual layer DVDs onto single layer DVDs. The wide range of options available with this mode allows to adequately and extensively customize the backup.
Export
The Export mode is used to convert a DVD so it can be watched on video players such as iPod, iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and many more. The Export mode is ideal to get movies and shows ready for the road. The wide range of options available with this mode allows for a truly customized conversion.
Extract
The Extract mode is used when there is a need to is pull out specific tracks from a DVD without altering them. Once the desired tracks have been chosen, the Extract mode makes them available for other uses. The Extract mode is ideal to make specific content of a DVD available to be used in other software.
